Strategy rules.
Complete execution model.

The supplied Pine implementation builds the first 15-minute opening range, then requires price to retain the correct side of session VWAP with the 9 EMA aligned above the 21 EMA for a long. A setup must pull back after the initial expansion and then close through the prior high; the entry is not a blind opening-range break. Protection uses the ORB midpoint unless that would exceed the configured 24-point maximum. The target can use the coded 18-point objective, an opening-range projection or the selected R:R setting. The supplied NQ export contains 166 closed two-minute trades across the last 365 days, all long.

01

Operating context

  • Market and model: E-mini Nasdaq-100 Futures (NQ1!), Momentum & Pullback Breakout family.
  • Operating timeframe: 15m ORB · 2m tested execution.
  • Execution window: New York session.
  • Apply the rules in sequence; one missing condition cancels the signal.
02

Pre-trade checklist

  • Confirm the full operating context before looking for an entry: 15m ORB · 2m tested execution.
  • Map the complete trigger without anticipation: VWAP + 9/21 EMA bias → pullback → prior-high break.
  • Calculate size, invalidation and maximum loss before the order: ORB midpoint · 24-point maximum.
03

Entry protocol

  • Execute only after the complete trigger is printed: VWAP + 9/21 EMA bias → pullback → prior-high break.
  • Record the level, timestamp and condition that activated the order; never turn a missed order into a chase.
04

Invalidation

  • Define the invalidation before submitting the order: ORB midpoint · 24-point maximum.
  • Exit when invalidated: do not average down and do not widen the stop.
05

Position management

  • Manage the open position exactly as specified: 18-point / ORB projection / configured R:R.
  • Coded exit model: 18-point / ORB projection / configured R:R.
  • Discretionary changes are allowed only when defined in the preset before entry.
06

When not to trade

  • Skip incomplete signals, late entries and any setup that cannot preserve the documented risk model.
  • Skip the setup when spread, slippage, volatility or liquidity make the calculated risk unreliable.
  • Do not treat historical results as a guarantee of future performance.

STRATEGY FAQ

Before you test the model.

01What is the PB-PULLBACK BREAK strategy?

PB-PULLBACK BREAK is PROPBREAKER's independent coded implementation inspired by concepts presented on Patrick Wieland's official YouTube channel. The trader is a concept reference only, is not affiliated with or endorsing PROPBREAKER, and did not develop or approve the software or its results.

02Which market and timeframe does this PULLBACK BREAK model use?

The page models E-mini Nasdaq-100 Futures (NQ1!) on 15m ORB · 2m tested execution. The primary setup is vwap + 9/21 ema bias → pullback → prior-high break, with orb midpoint · 24-point maximum.

03How are the PB-PULLBACK BREAK results tested?

The PROPBREAKER simulation is calculated from the imported NQ1! closed-trade ledger for LAST 365 DAYS. Monte Carlo and prop-firm tools reuse that implementation's trade history; the results are not results achieved, reported or endorsed by Patrick Wieland and do not guarantee future performance.

04Which platforms support this PULLBACK BREAK implementation?

The same coded decision model is designed for TradingView, MetaTrader 5 and NinjaTrader 8. Parameters can be changed, but every changed configuration should be backtested and stress-tested again before use.
